Pomp and Circumstance

Today we celebrate Travisโ€™ great homeschool career coming to an end. Travis, you have always been a joy to have as a student. I still remember the very beginning: teaching you how to hold a pencil, how to color inside the lines, how to sound out letters and eventually how to read and write. Before we had any children, it was my strong intention to teach them the love for books and reading. When I see you reading your books, Iโ€™m reminded that such a lofty goal was accomplished.

From the beginning of your schooling, you have applied yourself to your studies. Very early on you figured out that the sooner you were done with your schoolwork, the sooner you could enjoy other activities every day. You seemed to enjoy learning, with the great exception of learning to tell time using analog clocks.

Today we acknowledge your dedication and hard work. And it is a great honor to congratulate you for finishing and graduating High School.

Your future looks bright, and I encourage you to continue to walk in The Way of the Lord, so that He may show you the wonderful blessings He has prepared for you. As you continue living and growing in knowledge and wisdom, and as fear wants to creep into your mind in the face of challenges, remember Psalm 144:1-2:

Praise be to the Lord my Rock who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield in whom I take refuge.

Continue to live under His wings. He loves you and protects you. He accepts you just as you are. I have no doubt in my mind or heart that He has set you apart for great purposes to bring Him Glory.

We are proud of you!
